With the new revival will be?
We may ask how will the new revival, which will be the form it will take? We reply that God is creative, and like all revivals of the past were different expressions of His power and His presence, this move will not be exactly like any other.
However, we can see in the Bible and the study of revivals of the past, some indicators that can give us some tips on this new move.
Maybe more like the revival that was to come the Jesus Movement (Movement Jesus) the years 1967 to 1973.
We can expect a great move of God among this generation, especially those reaching the most excluded segments of society. Powerful anointed preachers and evangelists will be raised among teenagers from slums, streets and hills. Many will be rescued from addiction, and trafficking of marginality. Spills of the Holy Spirit sweep hospital institutions for juvenile offenders and schools, both public and private.
The revival will not fit within a single hierarchical structure, nor be driven only by leaders currently recognized. New structures and networks will be formed, and even many within the church will be renovated and will be large numerical growth in those churches that embrace the move, it just will not fit within the existing denominations and churches. New leaders - and even many of them young teens - are once again "raised the dust of obscurity and circumstances neglected" to shepherd the move of God.
Youth and adolescents are evangelizing new converts multitudes of his colleagues, invading hills and slums in the light of Christ. Miracles, healings and supernatural manifestations confirm the preaching of the Word, but all honor and glory will be given only to the Lord Jesus.
As William Seymour's Azusa Street and Evan Roberts of Wales, who were directing the services and meetings, often prefer to stay hidden so as not to attract people's attention. And while the spirit of humility remains, the revival will continue.
Young children will see visions and visitations of the Holy Spirit, and deliver prophecies with a purity and simplicity that will undoubtedly inspired by God.
There will be strong conviction of sin, and fear of the Lord shall be manifest among His people. Holiness is not just a target, the topic of sermons and studies, but actual experience will be experienced by thousands of people. The release will be the focus of preaching and ministry, but the Person of the Lord Jesus will be exalted, and the pure manifestation of His presence, many true and lasting releases happen. Physical and emotional healings are common, often occurring spontaneously while believers are worshiping the Lord Jesus, at other times being given by children, adolescents and other unknown followers of Christ.
Certainly, the move will attract much opposition and persecution, as in all revivals in church history, some of the worst attacks come from the people of God. Some leaders, feeling their power and prestige waning, criticize the revival, its leaders and new structures that are emerging. Others will be offended by supernatural manifestations, and call the move a mistake diabolical. Still others fail to accept that young adolescents are so powerfully used by God.
But the fruit of the revival will speak for itself. As the Lord Jesus said: "There is no good tree which produces bad fruit, nor a bad tree bears fruit good." A radical change so many lives will be self evident. The prayers of many mothers weeping on their children diverted, will be answered. Dealers will witness the transformation of his life, and will surrender to authorities to serve time for crimes committed before his conversion.
There will be a hunger for the Word of God. Bible studies will be done in homes, schools, places of work. Even the tables pubs and bars will be taken by groups wanting to read and study the Bible.
Many bars will close for lack of customer, the owners converted. Drug trafficking will disappear in some of the hills and slums best known in the headlines today. Crime rates in the regions impacted by revival show significant losses as well as the rates of teenage pregnancies and deaths of young people in traffic accidents, where abuse of alcohol is a major factor.
As the revival spread and lives will be truly converted to God's standards will invade all sectors of society, including trade, business, politics and government. The corruption will decrease and just laws will be implemented. The Church, and society in general, will return to a social conscience, caring for the oppressed, excluded and needy. Societal issues will be resolved by simple obedience to God's Word.
In this globalized world, with the media and transportation we have today, a true revival will spread quickly. In the same way that the Welsh revival that inspired the Azusa Street through letters between Frank Bartleman and Evan Roberts and Joseph Smale visit to Wales, the news and the anointing of this move will be transferred to various places in the world at the speed of light through the internet.
Missionaries revived, many of which were converted in the revival will be sent to the nations, and the fire will spread even to places that are now considered impenetrable and closed to the Gospel. Some of these heroes of the Gospel will lose their lives in this glorious task, but the fruits of their sacrifice will remain and sprout.
All this may seem an impossible dream. And it's a dream, yes. God's dream for this generation, this nation, these days we live.
Things like - and more - have happened throughout the history of the Church, when God's people decided to seek Him for the sake of your society, your neighbors, your friends and relatives. God's promises do not change. The same power and same promise of divine visitation, are available to us today.
